Hello,
I've just bought a retail version of Windows 8.1 32/64 bit (Windows 8.1 32-bit/64-bit Eng Intl DVD WN7-00580).
I'm trying to install it on my ASUS X50SL laptop with the following specifications:
Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 / 2 GHz
4GB DDR2 667MHz
250 GB HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 - 256 MB
The hardware meets all the requirements for Windows 8.1 as specified by Microsoft & the processor is PAE, NX and SSE2 compatible.
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2 (more info)
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
Processor specifications: http://ark.intel.com/products/33915/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T5750-2M-Cache-2_00-GHz-667-MHz-FSB
I'm trying to install this on a cleaned and formatted HDD, using Darik's Boot And Nuke(DBAN 2.3.0), but the installation is stuck for at least 2 minutes on the Windows logo screen and then an BSoD appears and the computer restarts.
Windows 8 Consumer Preview work perfect on this hardware and also Windows 7.
Any help on how to pass this problem will be appreciated.
Also if there is no way to pass this issue, can I download a version of Windows 8 (iso file) from Microsoft and install it with the 8.1 serial key from the retail package, if there is still a Windows 8 image available to download.
Thanks,
Dan
